LEV Thorough Examination & Testing Overview Per Fan
Under current COSHH Regulations, Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems must undergo a Thorough Examination and Test (TExT) at least every 14 months. This statutory inspection verifies that your LEV system is operating effectively and continues to provide adequate control of hazardous substances in the workplace.
Our LEV testing service is carried out by a competent engineer and is charged on a per fan basis. Following completion of the inspection, you will receive a detailed engineer's report & LEV Test Certificate for your records.
For further guidance on LEV testing requirements, please refer to the HSE publication HSG258:Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work – HSG258.
The service includes:
- Thorough Examination and Test (TExT) of your LEV system in accordance with COSHH Regulations.
- Performance testing of each LEV fan and associated system.
- Identification of any defects or areas requiring attention.
- A comprehensive engineer's report and LEV Test Certificate issued following the inspection.
- A pre-visit information document detailing the information and documentation required before the visit.
Before your scheduled visit
Prior to the inspection, we will provide a document detailing the information required to ensure the examination can be completed efficiently. Wherever available, the following documentation should be made available to our engineer on arrival:
- Commissioning Report from the original installer.
- System Manual.
- System Log Book.
- COSHH Health Risk Assessments relating to the process.
- DSEAR Risk Assessments (where applicable).
- Details of the substance(s) being controlled.
